The short courses will be held within the Engineering Center on the Boulder campus of the University of Colorado. The Engineering Center is at the southwest corner of Colorado Ave. and Regent Dr., very close to the intersection of Colorado and 28th St.
Parking is available in Lot 436, on the east side of Regent Dr., just south of Colorado Ave. Parking permits are required and will be provided. These permits must be filled out and hung from your rear-view mirror. The Engineering Center is directly across the street, on the west side of Regent Drive.
The course will be held in room ECCS 1B12: Engineering Center, CS wing (on the southwest side of the Engineering Center), 1B level (ground floor when entering from Regent Drive), room 12. Map - directions from Parking Lot 436.
The Denver International Airport (DIA) is 43 miles from Boulder, and is a 40-60 minute drive. Hourly shuttle van service is available via SuperShuttle and BoulderSuperShuttle.com.
The quickest way from the airport to Boulder uses the E-470 tollway: Mapquest directions from DIA to the Engineering Center. This route requires a total of $6.00 in tolls. Other routes can be found using the Advanced Options menu in Mapquest; note that the Denver freeways experience congestion during rush hour.
It is possible to avoid renting a car by using the shuttle and selecting one of the close hotels listed below. With a car one can explore more of the Boulder area including the downtown area with the shops and restaurants of the Pearl Street open-air pedestrian mall, as well as the Boulder mountain parks and other sightseeing listed below.

- The Boulder Mountain Parks are on the west side of town. The flatirons are spectacular rock formations that dominate the skyline of Boulder. Chautauqua Park (Baseline Rd. and 9th St.) is a good starting point for exploring this area. Beyond Chautauqua Park, Baseline Rd. continues up to the top of Flagstaff Mountain, and affords views of both the peaks of the Continental Divide to the west and the Great Plains to the east. The park includes Green Mountain (8,144 ft., pictured at right) and South Boulder Peak (8,549 ft.).

- The Boulder Creek Path follows Boulder Creek through town. Try a nice shady walk between Central Park (downtown area, between Canyon and Arapahoe at Broadway) and Eben Fine Park (to the west, near 3rd and Arapahoe).
- Boulder Canyon can be reached by driving west on Canyon Blvd., which becomes Highway 119. This picturesque area includes Boulder Creek and Boulder Falls.
- Rocky Mountain National Park is approximately 50 miles north of Boulder via U.S. 36. The park includes 14,250 ft. Long's Peak. Trail Ridge Road is an exciting drive over 12,000 ft. high. The very scenic Bear Lake area is highly recommended. Park map.
- The Mount Evans Scenic Byway is the highest paved road in the U.S., and goes to the top of 14,264 ft. Mt. Evans. The road is easily navigated by any automobile in summer. Don't go if you are afraid of heights or get serious altitude sickness, and take it easy driving the last 10 miles! See the website for directions and more info. The summit is approximately 75 miles from campus; take Broadway Blvd. south (it becomes Highway 93) through Golden CO to Interstate 70, then proceed west to Idaho Springs (Exit 240). Follow Highway 103 south to the Mount Evans entrance.
