No textbook is required. However, it is highly recommended to have a reference text on analog IC design. All students are encouraged to search out and study at least one reference for each lecture topic. The four recommended texts will also be on reserve (4 hours or overnight checkout). The recommended textbooks are given below (reference in brackets will be used in lecture notes):

Analog IC Design ECEN4827/5827 -- Fall semesters Covers the fundamentals of transistor-level analog integrated circuit design. Starting from device models, introduces principles of dc biasing, basic amplifier structures, frequency response and feedback techniques, and multi-stage differential amplifier design. Design oriented techniques and CAD simulation tools are emphasized. Prerequisites: ECEN 3250 (Circuits III or equiv). Mixed-Signal IC Design ECEN 5837 -- Spring semesters (1) Design of core analog circuits in mixed analog and digital systems, including data converters and sampled-data circuitry, and (2) system level IC design methodologies and CAD based circuit design and layout techniques in mixed analog and digital ICs. Prerequisites: Analog IC Design (or equiv). |
