GAANN Program in Hybrid Signal Electronics
This Department of Defense GAANN program in Hybrid Signal Electronics (HYSE)
has funded over 15 Ph.D. students over the past three years who are U.S.
citizens. The program covers the areas of analog and mixed signal
electronics from DC to THz. Selected students receive a fellowship for
their first year of graduate school, which gives them the freedom to work
with one or more faculty in the areas of power electronics, RF/microwave
electronics, millimeter/THz waves and optics. Once they identify a project
and advisor, the GAANN fellows are funded as research assistants. Every
GAANN-HYSE fellow is encouraged to complete a micro-training class such as
machining or technical writing, and is required to get some experience in
teaching.
